Right, so it was on Monday night, sorry for the late journal entry, but I’ve have exams all of this week >_<

SO we left as soon as I got back from school, got there around 5 and started queuing
Met some people from Finland, Somerset, Spain, ALL OVER! Amazing <3
While we were standing in the queue we asked a security guy if the band was here yet, and he said all but Jared
So naturally, when a shiny Mercedes pulled up, we all crowded round
And Jared got out so fast and ran through the back door, I didn't even see him! He was so quick he must've had practice I guess

Well then, after that, I realised that my bottle had been leaking in my bag, so in a frantic struggle I pulled my folder of drawings out to stop them being ruined by the water
And right then a camera-man came past
So he was all
Ooh
Do a little interview XD
So I did @_@ it was well scary

And then this other camera guy came past
And my dad was asking him if he knew what time doors were actually gonna open at
And then my dad showed him my drawings
And so he dragged me off and did another interview
His name was Brandon and he was filming directly FOR JARED AND THE BAND for the documentary that they're making

So that was huge! He asked me about my favourite songs and stuff and made me hold up the drawings, and also the magazine feature in KERRANG WHICH WAS AMAZING!

So then we queued some more
And they we heard that doors were gonna open at 8 instead of 7, so we were all 'let's go pee dudes I’m bursting'
So a bunch of us went across the road to a coffee shop and stood there in line to pee
And I met a few new people and put faces to names I’ve known for a while

Then we went back to the queue and got free stickers and said hi to some more people
Doors finally opened at 8
So we rushed to near the front
Then the supporting act came on, they were called 'we fell to earth' and I would've enjoyed their music, but the mics were too loud so it just sounding like screaming, and frankly, we wanted MARS and not a support act
While they were on I spotted Jared’s guitars at the side, Pythagoras and Artemis
And I also spotted tomo and Tim standing at the back of the stage
Every now and then I saw a hand grab a guitar, and put it back a few minutes later, must've been jarred
So the supporting act finally finished
And after waiting like another 30 mins some of us had been standing for over 3 hours, and we were in soo much back pain
And there was a guy who was in a red shirt, and he was REALLY tall and he was there with his slutty blonde girlfriend >_<
and he was RIGHT in front of me, so after a while, me and some people from northern Ireland that I met politely asked him if we could go in front of him, cos my head came up to his back so all I could see was shirt and neck
And he was a right bastard! He said 'well tough, that's what happens at gigs'
So we were all meanie >_<
So we just squished past him anyway
And then FINALLY at 9:30pm 30 SECONDS TO MARS CAME ON STAGE! And we were completely squashed and separated
they opened with 'a beautiful lie' and right in the mosh pit I was dying, jumping up and down with my hand in the air, making a stereotypical 'rock on' gesture I was soooo compressed I though my lungs were gonna pop out of my ears
The next song they did was Attack, which was genius, Jared was struggling to get those really low notes, but warmed up by the chorus
Then they played From Yesterday, and I decided I was too small and I couldn't see the stage, every so often I got a glimpse of Jared’s hair or tome’s guitar lead but I was like ‘you know what? This is stupid' so I left and started climbing the never ending stairs
throughout 'from yesterday' I was just climbing stairs, asking staff for directions about how to get right to the top balcony and singing along, dancing around and pulling my broken badge out of my leg (OUCH!)
I finally reached the top and found my dad and brother who were chilling on a sofa at the very top
It was nice up there, got a perfect view of the stage and had a whole sofa to ourselves
Then they played 'the story' which was really sweet and I could see jarred swaying to the beat
Then they did 'kings and queen's which ROCKED completely! Especially as the crowd took over the summit vocals perfectly! I could see how happy jarred was when he heard us all doing the whoahs and singing the last screamy part how we were taught that the summit
After that, jarred got his acoustic guitar out and the other MARS boys left the stage
He started with Capricorn for the short acoustic set
Which was unbelievable BEAUTIFUL! His voice was so crisp and sweet sounding, and he slowed it right down at first the crowd sang a long, and then we all stopped to let him sing cos it was mesmerizing
He stopped a few times and let us sing the ends of some lines <3 then he got us to sing almost a whole chorus on our own
after that, he did a little question and answer, and some idiot asked 'will this is war be available for pre-order in the UK merch store?' and Jared gave the crowd a really blank stare and was like 'very good question record company are you listening?' and looked up to the people from EMI, who everyone booed of course
Then he said 'well, you know what I say? If you can't pre-order it then they deserve to have it stolen!' i.e. leaked on the internet
Then he sat with his guitar, strummed a few chords and said 'I don't think I remember it' and then launched into 'echelon'
He stopped after the first chorus cos he forgot it and was like 'ah I guess it’s old age'
And he strummed a few times and was like 'ah fuck you I got it' and carried on
Then he did a wrong chord half way through the chorus and laughed and carried on
He stopped a few more times and got the crowd to keep singing while he figured it out
it was really sweet cos he laughed every time he forgot it and gave us a big grin when we sang it back to him it was so cool when he got us to finish a line with 'THE ECHELON!' really loudly!
After that came the highlight of my evening, he did an acoustic version of a new song, everyone's calling it 'revenge' and it is simply gorgeous! My chin was on the floor the whole time and he got a whoop from everyone when he hit these ridiculously high notes
The chorus was very muse-esque with falsetto trills and lovely bits that made my hair stand on end and my spine started tingling. See this song here: [link]
Then the rest of the band came back on stage and they did the KILL!! WOOHOO! Even my dad was singing along
Jared jumped in the crowd and apparently some girls stuck their fingers in his mouth, and he got groped a lot the mosh pit surged forward and everyone started crowd surfing
Some guy had Jared by the hair and it looked like he was trying to kiss him or something
Security pulled the guy off and he got dropped on the floor
Some woman crowd surfed and eventually no one caught her and she fell on the floor really hard too
Security finally hoisted Jared back on stage
Then they did the fantasy and Jared got us to finish the end of a few lines
Then he did that awesome thing where he spins around really fast with his guitar, he got loadsa whoops for that
Then they thanked us and left stage
After a few minutes we started chanting 'THIS IS WAR' over and over cos they hadn't played it
Eventually they came back on and did it
Poor Jared’s voice was dying and he was completely exhausted
Then they actually did leave
And a sign came up about the signing
5 seconds per person
Anyone who pre-ordered the new album got to go to the signing first

We were right at the top, so by the time we got in line we WERE LAST. Like literally, right at the back, no one behind us
Hung around for an hour or so
Finally got near the front
And I saw Shannon and Tomo looking at me
And I got all jelly-legged
And I kept squealing and we moved forward a little bit
And Shannon looked at me again and just stared at me for like a minute
AND THEN WE WENT THROUGH AND MET THEM!
Haha as soon as we got there, Shannon saw my drawings and I handed them out to get them signed and gave them copies
And Shannon was like 'Whoah, that's amazing!' and he sounded all American <3
Jared was like to me, staring RIGHT into my eyes with his big blue ones 'have we met before? You look REALLY familiar'
And I was like 'ummm I don't think so'
AND I KEPT IT COOL! I wasn't all nervous and fan-girly! YAY!!
Tomo was very quiet, I don't even think he said anything @_@ he just signed the drawing and took the copy
Odd...when they were on stage Jared said tomo was jetlagged, and then said 'but with a beard like that who needs sleep?' which was funny
And Jared signed the drawings
And accidentally took both copies of one of them, so I had to sneak it back from under his elbow
My brother was like to him 'those high notes you hit are amazing, I’m in a band too'
And Jared was like 'well then you know my pain, right?' and laughed
And my dad said to him 'one of your movies is on tonight, urban legend' and Jared was like 'ew' he doesn't like that film I guess
We were only supposed to get 5 seconds with them, but we were there for a few minutes cos we were RIGHT at the end of the line
And then Shannon said something, and tomo mumbled something
And my dad shook Jared’s hand
And Jared looked me right in the eyes and grinned and said 'keep drawing '
And we left
And I jumped around for ages afterwards cos I was so happy about meeting them!
It’s so weird to think that a few months ago I was thinking, ‘Wouldn’t it be so great if I met them But that’s never gonna happen…’ AND IT DID!


IT WAS THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!
